North Flatbush Avenue Community:
Greetings! I am very happy to report that our website will soon be upgraded and up and running in the next couple of weeks. This project has been a long time in the making. Please keep checking with us regularly and "bookmark us" as we reveal it's new look.
On another note, I am pleased to announce and welcome our new resident board member to the BID, Sharon Davidson. She will be helping the BID with a Community Resident Project , along with some other great ideas.
The BID's administrative office is currently working on a few exciting projects for North Flatbush Avenue. The BID has secured a subcontract and is working in conjuction with Arbor Education and Training, a leading Workforce Development Organization on the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development's Young Adult Internship Program. The Young Adult Internship Program provides opportunities for job ready youth, ages 16-24 who are not currently employed or in school, paid internships. Over 15 Avenue Merchants and 30 youth are working together on this initiative. The BID is also currently planning on creating a new streetscape design for North Flatbush Avenue. If you wish to contribute any ideas please contact me, your ideas are greatly appreciated. Lastly, but not least is the Pacific Street Brooklyn Bears Community Garden Programming for 2008. The money raised at our Annual Holiday Silent Auction will benefit many wonderful projects for children in the garden. The BID is very grateful to all the participants for their time and effort put into making our silent auction a great success. I am already looking forward to next years event!
The BID is embarking on many more projects for the New Year, for more details regarding our current initiatives and furture plans or if you have any comments or suggestion regarding our website please contact me at
